Armenia Inflation Rate Rises in June

Armenia’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 5.1% in June 2026, up from 4.2% in May. Prices increased more rapidly for food and non-alcoholic beverages (8.6% vs. 6.4% in May), housing and utilities (1.2% vs. 1.1%), clothing and footwear (3.0% vs. 1.8%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1.8% vs. 0.4%), and restaurants and hotels (4.1% vs. 3.8%).

At the same time, inflation slowed in several categories: transport (1.6% vs. 3.2%), health (3.5% vs. 3.7%), miscellaneous goods and services (2.4% vs. 2.9%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.5% vs. 7.7%), communication (1.1% vs. 1.2%), and recreation and culture (0.9% vs. 1.6%). Inflation for education remained unchanged at 8.3%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.5% in June, following a 0.8% decline in May, marking a second consecutive month of price contraction after eight straight months of increases.
