Switzerland’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate slipped to 2.9% in June 2026, down from 3.0% in each of the previous two months and below market expectations of 3.1%. This was the lowest reading since November 2025, as the number of unemployed fell by 2.5 thousand from the prior month to 137.75 thousand. The youth unemployment rate, covering jobseekers aged 15 to 24, remained unchanged at 2.7%, while the rate for those aged 50 to 64 eased to 2.6% from 2.7%. At the same time, reported job vacancies increased by 2.5 thousand to 47.2 thousand. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate held steady at 3.1%.
