Asian equity markets mostly declined on Tuesday, as renewed selling in technology shares overshadowed the previous night’s tech-driven rally on Wall Street. Regional sentiment deteriorated after Samsung Electronics slumped more than 5%, despite reporting strong profit growth supported by solid demand for AI data center memory chips. SK Hynix also fell nearly 4% after it began the formal marketing process for its planned US listing. Consequently, South Korea’s KOSPI Composite Index dropped nearly 6%, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index slid more than 1%. Markets in Australia and mainland China also traded lower, whereas Hong Kong equities extended their winning streak to a fourth consecutive session.
