Chile's annual inflation rate rose to 4.3% in June 2026 from 3.9% in May, reaching its highest level since September 2025. The increase was driven mainly by higher prices in transportation (8.6% vs 10.1%), restaurants and hotels (6.5% vs 6.5%), education (5.9% vs 5.9%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.2% vs 2.5%), housing and utilities (4.3% vs 4.2%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.4% vs 2.6%).

In contrast, prices declined for clothing and footwear (-4.76% vs -4.9%) and insurance and financial services (-1.8% vs -4.4%).

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) was unchanged in June, following a 0.2% increase in May and defying market expectations of a 0.2% decline. Core consumer prices edged down by 0.1% in June, after a 0.4% rise in the previous month.
