Irish HICP Inflation Edges Down to 3.2% in June

Ireland’s Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) eased slightly in June, with the annual rate slipping to 3.2% year-over-year, down from 3.3% previously.

According to the latest figures, updated on 9 July 2026, the June 2026 reading reflects price changes compared with June 2025, while the prior 3.3% figure measured May 2026 against May 2025. The marginal decline suggests that while inflationary pressures remain present in the Irish economy, the pace of price growth is stabilising rather than accelerating.

The HICP is the key measure used for cross-country inflation comparisons within the euro area, and the June data indicate a modest cooling in Ireland’s annual inflation trend as mid-2026 progresses.
