FX.co ★ Finish Jobless Rate Edges Up to 10% in June

Finland’s unemployment rate edged up to 10.0% in June 2026, from 9.9% in the same month a year earlier. The number of unemployed rose by 3,000 over the year to 297,000, including 151,000 men and 146,000 women. By gender, the male unemployment rate fell to 10.0%, down 0.2 percentage points from a year earlier, while the female unemployment rate increased to 10.1%, up 0.6 percentage points. Among younger workers aged 15–24, the unemployment rate declined to 19.3%, 2.9 percentage points lower than a year before. Overall employment decreased by 15,000 to 2.658 million, and the labour force participation rate slipped to 70.9% from 71.2% a year earlier. Meanwhile, the employment rate for people aged 20–64 declined to 76.5% from 77.2%.
