Danish Business Morale Rises to 3-Month High

Denmark’s manufacturing confidence indicator rose to 99.2 in July 2026, up from 90.7 in June. This was the strongest reading since April, though it remained just below the long-term average of 100. Production expectations improved notably, increasing to 16 from 9 in June, while employment expectations became less pessimistic, rising to -9 from -21.

More broadly, the composite business confidence indicator, which encompasses manufacturing, construction, retail, and services, climbed to 105.4 from 101.0 in June. Confidence in the services sector strengthened to 107.3 from 105.5, and sentiment in the retail sector turned positive, advancing to 106.3 from 99.8 in the previous month. By contrast, confidence in the construction sector slipped slightly, easing to 101.0 from 101.3.
