FX.co ★ US, Jordan Seal Landmark Reciprocal Trade Pact

The United States and Jordan have signed the U.S.–Jordan Agreement on Reciprocal Trade, a landmark accord designed to deepen economic ties and strengthen supply chain cooperation. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah formalized the agreement, which maintains Jordan’s duty-free access to the U.S. market for nearly all exports.

Under the deal, Jordan commits to reinforcing its trade framework by enforcing environmental regulations, enhancing labor protections, improving intellectual property rights, ensuring fair commercial practices, and streamlining customs procedures. The agreement also obliges Jordan to dismantle non-tariff barriers and broaden market access for U.S. goods, including agricultural products and motor vehicles.

Beyond trade, both countries pledged to deepen economic and security cooperation through closer coordination on investment screening and export controls, as well as joint efforts to combat duty evasion and counter non-market policies pursued by third countries.
