Indian Stocks Rebound

Indian equities rebounded sharply on Monday after five consecutive sessions of losses, as easing oil prices supported the rupee and improved foreign investor appetite. The S&P BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty 50 each advanced 1%.

The United States paused airstrikes against Iran over the weekend, prompting a pullback in crude prices. This tempered expectations of rupee weakness driven by energy importers and, in turn, bolstered foreign inflows into Indian capital markets.

Among major movers, Tata Consultancy Services rose 1.9% after posting stronger‑than‑expected quarterly results, while Lodha Developers gained on the back of higher quarterly profit. Infosys jumped 3%, supported by a rebound in the US technology sector. By contrast, Bank of Baroda came under pressure following a decline in its quarterly earnings.
