US wholesale inventories increased 0.3% month-over-month to $945.9 billion in June 2026, matching May’s upwardly revised 0.3% gain and surpassing market expectations of a 0.2% rise. Preliminary data show inventories climbed for a fifth straight month, driven by a 0.7% increase in durable goods stocks after a 0.2% gain in the prior month. In contrast, nondurable goods inventories declined 0.4%, reversing the 0.4% increase recorded in May. On a yearly basis, wholesale inventories were up 4.4%.
