Chile’s IMACEC economic activity index grew 2.4% year-on-year in June 2026, recovering from a 0.9% contraction in May and recording its strongest annual expansion since September 2025. Goods-producing sectors rose 3.9%, driven by a 9.8% increase in mining and quarrying—especially copper output—though this was partially offset by a 0.7% decline in manufacturing. Trade activity expanded 5.4%, with all components posting gains, led by wholesale trade on the back of stronger machinery and equipment sales. Services output increased 1.0%, supported by growth in both personal and business services. On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, overall economic activity rose 0.6%, reversing the 0.2% decline recorded in the previous month.
