Uruguay Inflation Rises Slightly in July

Uruguay’s annual inflation rate inched up to 4.27% in July 2026 from 4.25% in June. The largest price increases were seen in education (6.93%), followed by restaurants and hotels (6.72%), transport (5.76%), healthcare (5.59%), personal care and social protection (5.12%), housing and utilities (5.03%), recreation, sport and culture (4.56%), and information and communication (4.29%). Food prices rose 2.95%, while clothing and footwear remained the only major category in deflation, with prices falling 5.83%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.07%, bringing inflation for the year to date to 3.40%.
