Construction output in the Czech Republic rose by 2.0% year-on-year in June 2026, slowing from a 4.4% increase in May and marking the weakest expansion since January. Building construction output grew by 6.3% compared with a year earlier, while civil engineering activity declined by 5.3%.
During the month, 5,545 building permits were issued, an increase of 1.8% year-on-year, and the total floor area of newly permitted buildings surged by 76.3%. Housing starts climbed 52.9% from a year earlier to 4,103 units, whereas the number of completed dwellings fell by 17.8% year-on-year to 2,699.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, overall construction output decreased by 0.3% in June, reversing the 0.2% increase recorded in May.
