FX.co ★ DAX Rises to Fresh Record

The DAX 40 rose 0.6% to approach 26,300 on Friday, reaching a new record high and extending gains for a second consecutive session. Investors remained focused on corporate earnings and developments in the Middle East.

On the macroeconomic front, Germany’s industrial production and export figures exceeded market expectations, offering an encouraging signal for the broader economy.

Sector-wise, technology led the advance, with software companies and chipmakers at the forefront, followed by pharma & healthcare and industrials. Insurers, however, came under pronounced selling pressure. SAP gained 3.4%, while Infineon Technologies rose 1.6%. Rheinmetall, Scout24, Qiagen, and Brenntag also posted solid increases.

In contrast, Daimler Truck slipped nearly 3% after reporting an 18% decline in second-quarter profit, despite raising its full-year adjusted EBIT guidance. Münchener Rück lost 2.7% even after a surprise 6% increase in net profit. Allianz eased 0.9%, as net income fell short of forecasts despite a stronger-than-expected record Q2 operating profit.
