Greece’s annual inflation rate eased to 3.4% in July 2026, the lowest level in five months, down from 4.4% in June. Price growth slowed notably in several categories, including housing and utilities (8.8% vs 10.6%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.4% vs 2.7%), restaurants and hotels (5.8% vs 7.7%), recreation and culture (1.3% vs 1.7%), and furnishings and household equipment (0.4% vs 0.5%). Inflation remained unchanged in health (1.1%) and education (2.8%). By contrast, prices accelerated in transport (7.4% vs 7.2%) and clothing and footwear (3.3% vs 0.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 1.4% in July, following a flat reading in June.
