FX.co ★ Turkey Retail Sales Growth Eases in June

Retail sales in Turkey increased by 11.8% year-on-year in June 2026, slowing from a downwardly revised 12.8% rise in May. Growth cooled in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco (2.9% vs. 8.8% in May), as well as automotive fuel (1.1% vs. 2.8%).

By contrast, non-food sales accelerated to 17.6% from 16.3%, driven by stronger demand for computers, peripheral equipment, software, books, and telecommunications products (28.8% vs. 23.8%); pharmaceutical, medical, orthopedic, cosmetic, and personal care products (16.9% vs. 12.6%); and mail-order and online sales (22.4% vs. 13.0%). Meanwhile, sales of textiles, clothing, and footwear lost momentum, easing to 3.9% from 11.5%.

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail sales rose 0.7% in June, down from a downwardly revised 2.1% increase in May.
