Ibovespa Rebounds From Seven-Month Low

The Ibovespa advanced about 0.5% on Thursday, moving back above 168,000 points after hitting a seven‑month low, supported by a new round of corporate earnings and a pullback in oil prices.

Rede D’Or climbed 5% after posting a 9.7% year-on-year increase in net profit. CSN gained 2% even though it reported a net loss, as the result came in better than expected and revenue grew 6%. In contrast, Banco do Brasil slipped 0.5% after second‑quarter earnings missed estimates, while Sabesp fell more than 2.5% following an 11.2% year-on-year decline in net profit.

Crude oil prices retreated as indications of softer demand outweighed the impact of stalled peace talks involving Iran. At the same time, easing inflation pressures in the United States—underscored by subdued PPI data—underpinned financials and other rate- and credit-sensitive stocks. Major banks were mostly higher, with Bradesco up 0.5%, and utilities also advanced, led by a 1% rise in Axia.
