Denmark’s GDP Growth Cools to 4.6% in Q2 2026, Easing from 5.9% YoY

Denmark’s economy expanded by 4.6% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2026, marking a moderation in growth compared with the 5.9% annual increase recorded in the first quarter of 2026. The latest gross domestic product (GDP) figures, updated on 20 August 2026, show that while activity remains robust, the pace of expansion is slowing.

The data are based on a year-over-year comparison, measuring the change in GDP in the second quarter of 2026 against the same period a year earlier. The previous figure likewise reflected a year-over-year comparison, with first-quarter 2026 GDP growth measured against the first quarter of the prior year.

The deceleration from 5.9% to 4.6% suggests that the Danish economy is moving off its earlier peak rate of expansion, though it continues to grow at a solid clip in annual terms.
