Thailand’s Private Consumption Edges Up in July, Signaling Gradual Demand Recovery

Thailand’s private consumption inched higher in July 2026, offering a modest sign of strengthening domestic demand. The indicator rose to 1.2% month-on-month, up from 1.1% in June 2026, according to data updated on 31 August 2026.

On a month-over-month basis, the latest reading shows a slightly faster pace of growth compared with the previous month, when June’s 1.1% increase reflected a comparison with May. The July data, measured against June, suggest that household spending is continuing to recover, albeit at a measured rate.

While the improvement is incremental, the consecutive gains in June and July point to a cautiously improving consumption trend that could support Thailand’s broader economic activity if sustained in the coming months.
