North Macedonia Industrial Output Growth Eases in July

North Macedonia’s industrial production rose by 1.3% year-on-year in July 2026, a sharp slowdown from the 6.5% increase recorded in June. Growth in manufacturing moderated to 3.4% from 7.9% in the previous month, with weaker output particularly in food products, textiles, wearing apparel, and other transport equipment. At the same time, contractions deepened in mining and quarrying (-5.9% vs -3.8%) and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-19.5% vs -8.2%).

By main industrial grouping, production declined for capital goods (-2.9% vs an 8.6% increase in June) and durable consumer goods (-9.9% vs an 8.6% increase), while the drop in energy output intensified (-22.2% vs -11.1%). Growth in the production of intermediate goods excluding energy also slowed, to 9.2% from 11.7%. In contrast, output of non-durable consumer goods accelerated, rising 3.1% compared with 2.0% in June. Over the January–July period, total industrial production was up 0.9% compared with the same period a year earlier.
