US Futures Flat After Downbeat Session

US stock futures were steady on Wednesday after the major indexes logged another losing session, weighed down by rising bond yields and higher oil prices that reignited worries about inflation and further interest rate hikes. On Tuesday, the Dow fell 0.79%, the S&P 500 slipped 0.71% and the Nasdaq Composite lost 1.03%, marking a third straight decline for all three benchmarks. Seven of the S&P 500’s 11 sectors ended lower, led by consumer discretionary, industrials and materials. The weakness followed an intensifying global bond selloff that drove the yield on the US 10-year Treasury to its highest level since early 2025. Oil prices also jumped amid escalating tensions between the US and Iran, heightening the risk of additional disruptions to Middle East energy supplies. Investors are now looking ahead to ADP private payrolls data and the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book, as well as earnings reports from Broadcom, Hewlett Packard and Snowflake, among others.
