Croatia Trade Deficit Widens in July

Croatia’s trade deficit widened to EUR 1.8 billion in July 2026, compared with EUR 1.7 billion in the same month a year earlier. Exports rose by 2.8% year-on-year to EUR 2.3 billion, while imports increased by 4.5% to EUR 4.1 billion.

Over the period from January to July, exports grew by 9.8% to EUR 16.0 billion, supported by higher shipments to both EU markets (up 12.6%) and non-EU countries (up 4.1%). During the same period, imports expanded by 6.9% to EUR 28.6 billion, driven by stronger purchases from EU partners (up 5.6%) and non-EU suppliers (up 11.7%).

As a result, the trade deficit for January–July widened slightly to EUR 12.6 billion, from EUR 12.1 billion a year earlier.
