Spain’s Consumer Sentiment Slips in September as PCSI Falls to 46.82

Spain’s consumer confidence retreated in September 2026, according to the latest Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI), signaling a softening in household optimism about the economic outlook.

The index declined to 46.82 in September from 48.47 in August 2026 on a month-over-month basis, based on data updated as of 10 September 2026. The move marks a reversal from the previous month’s higher reading and underlines a cooling in sentiment as Spanish consumers reassess their views on current and future economic conditions.

The month-over-month comparison shows that the current reading reflects a weaker mood than in August, when the indicator stood higher, while August itself had been measured against July as part of the same sequential tracking pattern.
