FX.co ★ Peru Economy Grows 3.56% in July

Peru’s economy grew 3.56% year-on-year in July 2026, up from 1.75% in June and registering its fastest pace since April. Commerce expanded by 6.79%, supported by a 4.22% rise in wholesale trade, a sharp 28.77% jump in automotive trade, and a 6.02% increase in retail trade. The “other services” category, which includes real estate and personal services, rose 5.08%.

The construction sector advanced 9.85%, underpinned by a 10.17% increase in domestic cement consumption and a 9.51% gain in the physical progress of construction projects. Activity also increased in business services (4.24%), financial services (3.13%), public administration and defense (3.46%), transportation (2.86%), utilities (7.30%), accommodation and restaurants (3.48%), mining and hydrocarbons (0.24%), and telecommunications (0.30%).

By contrast, several key sectors contracted: manufacturing fell 1.81%, fishing declined 27.44%, and agriculture dropped 1.23%.
