Georgia Producer Inflation Accelerates in August

Producer prices in Georgia increased by 5.8% year-on-year in August 2026, up from 5.1% in July. The acceleration was driven primarily by faster price growth in mining and quarrying (20.1% vs 14.4% in July). Prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply also rose (2.6% vs -1.7%), while inflation in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services picked up (6.3% vs 5.7%).

By contrast, inflation in manufacturing eased slightly (5.1% vs 5.2%). Within the manufacturing sector, price growth slowed for chemicals and chemical products (13.3% vs 15.4%) and for basic metals (10.1% vs 11.0%), and food product inflation also moderated (5.7% vs 6.6%). However, prices for coke and refined petroleum products accelerated sharply (33.0% vs 6.0%).

On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.9% in August, following a 0.7% decline in July.
