FX.co ★ Bosnia and Herzegovina Inflation at 3-Month High

The annual inflation rate in Bosnia and Herzegovina accelerated to 4.9% in August 2026, up from 3.6% in July, reaching its highest level in three months. Price growth picked up for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.9%, compared with 3.0% in July), housing and utilities (11.3% vs 10.8%), transport (22.9% vs 13.0%), and recreation and culture (3.9% vs 3.6%).

In contrast, inflation slowed for furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (1.9% vs 2.8%), health (5.5% vs 5.9%), and other goods and services (1.4% vs 1.6%). Inflation was unchanged in communication (3.1%), education (1.8%), and restaurants and hotels (4.8%).

Meanwhile, deflation moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.9% vs -1.1%) but intensified for clothing and footwear (-8.7% vs -7.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 1.1% in August, rebounding from a 0.4% decline in July and breaking a three-month sequence of monthly deflation.
