FX.co ★ Cyprus Industrial Output Rises Slightly in July

Cyprus’ industrial production rose by 1.5% year-on-year in July 2026, slightly above the upwardly revised 1.4% increase recorded in June. The expansion was driven primarily by stronger activity in water supply and materials recovery, where output growth accelerated to 8.2% from 2.8% in June.

By contrast, growth in mining and quarrying moderated to 6.0% from 11.4%, while manufacturing output also decelerated, rising 1.5% compared with 2.0% in the previous month. The slowdown in manufacturing was largely attributable to weaker growth in wood products (5.1% vs. 7.3%), rubber and plastic products (2.0% vs. 4.9%), and basic metals and fabricated metal products (3.7% vs. 4.9%).

Electricity supply remained in contraction territory, although the pace of decline eased to 1.1% from 4.0% in June. Over the January–July period, industrial production increased by 1.6% compared with the same period a year earlier.
