Denmark’s Q2 2026 GDP Growth Eases to 5.7% Year-on-Year

Denmark’s economic growth moderated in the second quarter of 2026, with gross domestic product (GDP) rising 5.70% year-on-year, down from a 6.20% expansion in the first quarter of 2026. The latest figures, updated on 30 September 2026, indicate a slight cooling in the pace of activity compared with the start of the year.

Both the current and previous readings are based on year-over-year comparisons, measuring GDP in each quarter against the same quarter a year earlier. The first quarter’s 6.20% growth reflected a stronger expansion, while the second quarter’s 5.70% result suggests that, although Denmark’s economy remains on a solid growth trajectory, momentum has eased somewhat as the year has progressed.

The updated data will be closely watched by market participants and policymakers as they assess whether the deceleration signals the beginning of a more sustained slowdown or a temporary normalization following an exceptionally strong first quarter.
