Luxembourg’s annual inflation rate rose to 2.9% in September 2026 from 2.2% in August, reaching its highest level since April. Price growth accelerated across several categories, including housing and utilities (1.3% vs 0.5%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.5% vs 1.4%), clothing and footwear (1.1% vs 1.0%), recreation and culture (3.4% vs 1.5%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.6% vs 2.0%), information and communication (3.1% vs 0.9%), and personal care, social protection, and miscellaneous goods and services (4.2% vs 2.1%).
Inflation remained unchanged for restaurants and hotels at 3.2%, as well as for furniture, household goods, and routine household maintenance at 1.5%. In contrast, price pressures eased in health (1.7% vs 1.8%) and education (0.6% vs 6.2%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 0.6% in September, following a 1.2% increase in August.
