FX.co ★ Slovenia Jobless Rate Steady at 4.4%

Slovenia’s unemployment rate held steady at 4.4% in August 2026, unchanged from July. The rate stood at 4.0% for men and 4.8% for women. The total number of unemployed declined by 26 compared with the previous month and by 1,076 year-on-year, to 43,231.

By age group, individuals aged 40–49 accounted for the largest share of the unemployed at 24%, followed by those over 55 at 23.96% and those aged 30–39 at 21.6%.

The proportion of unemployed people with tertiary education rose to 19.6%, up from 19.3% a month earlier. First-time job seekers represented 16.4% of the unemployed, slightly down from 16.6%.

The share of long-term unemployed (more than one year) increased to 38.4% from 37.9%, while the share of those unemployed for more than two years edged down to 20.7% from 20.9%.
