Greece Factory Activity Slows for 2nd Month

The S&P Global Greece Manufacturing PMI eased to 53.3 in October 2026 from 54.0 in September, marking a second consecutive monthly decline but remaining solidly in expansionary territory. Output, new orders, and employment all continued to rise on the back of improving market demand, with production posting its fastest growth since July. However, the pace of new order growth softened to its weakest since May.

Disruptions related to the Middle East conflict continued to weigh on the sector, with supply chains under strain and widespread delays in input deliveries, compounded by higher transport costs. At the same time, lower warehouse inventories and stronger production contributed to a second straight monthly decline in backlogs of work, while employment growth further supported productive capacity.

Despite the ongoing expansion, price pressures remained elevated. Business confidence in the outlook deteriorated, slipping to a five-month low.
