The RatingDog China General Composite PMI slipped to 52.0 in October 2026 from 52.4 in September, its lowest level since July, indicating a moderating pace of private-sector expansion. Stronger growth in manufacturing output was not enough to fully offset a softer upturn in services activity. Overall new business and new export orders continued to increase, underpinning further gains in services employment, though the rate of growth in all three measures eased slightly compared with the previous month. At the same time, average output prices fell as both manufacturers and service providers offered discounts, even as input costs continued to rise. Business confidence also deteriorated from September’s level.
