Frankfurt's DAX 40 rose 0.3% on Thursday, surpassing 26,600 to notch a new record high and extend the previous session’s rally. Risk appetite improved in the wake of the US midterm elections, while lower oil prices and falling bond yields offered additional support. Investors also continued to focus on the ongoing earnings season. Gains were led by consumer, banking, and automotive stocks, whereas technology and defence names lagged. Among notable movers, Rheinmetall slumped more than 16% after cutting its full-year guidance, signalling weaker earnings prospects. Deutsche Telekom slipped 1.4% after unveiling a €2 billion share buyback that fell short of investor expectations.
