Poland Retail Sales Growth Steady At 4.4%

Poland's retail sales continued to grow at a steady rate in July, although the pace was slower than anticipated, according to data released by Statistics Poland on Thursday.

Retail sales increased by 4.4 percent year-on-year in July, maintaining the same growth rate as observed in June. Economists had forecasted a higher increase of 5.6 percent.

Notably, sales of motor vehicles, motorcycles, and parts experienced the most significant growth, surging by 30.1 percent annually. Sales of solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels also saw a substantial increase, rising by 9.9 percent.

Conversely, the sector for textiles, clothing, and footwear saw a significant decline, with sales dropping by 10.4 percent.

On a monthly basis, total retail sales rose by 1.9 percent in July, following a modest 0.3 percent gain in June.
