European Economic News Preview: Eurozone Flash Inflation Data Due

Upcoming on Tuesday are key economic releases from the euro area, including preliminary inflation and unemployment statistics, as well as the construction Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) surveys for Germany and the UK.

Starting at 2:00 am ET, the UK will release the Halifax house price data. Forecasters anticipate a 0.8% increase in house prices for December, a slight dip from the 1.3% growth observed in November.

At 2:30 am ET, the Federal Statistical Office of Switzerland is set to unveil the nation's inflation figures. Predictions suggest a marginal decrease in inflation to 0.6% for December, compared to 0.7% in the previous month.

France follows at 2:45 am ET with the publication of preliminary consumer price index data for December by INSEE. Economists project an increase in consumer price inflation to 1.5%, up from 1.3% in November.

Germany's December construction PMI survey results will be released at 3:30 am ET by S&P Global.

In Italy, unemployment data for November will be reported by ISTAT at 4:00 am ET. The unemployment rate is expected to hold steady at 5.8%.

The UK's construction PMI survey results are due at 4:30 am ET. Analysts expect the index to decline to 54.3 in December from 55.2 in November.

Finally, at 5:00 am ET, Eurostat will release the euro area's flash inflation and unemployment data. Inflation is anticipated to see an uptick to 2.4% in December, up from November's 2.2%. The unemployment rate in the region is predicted to remain stable at 6.3% for November.
