South Africa PPI Inflation Softens to 4-Month Low

South Africa's Producer Price Index (PPI) inflation decreased to 0.5% in March 2025, registering its second consecutive monthly decline and reaching its lowest level in four months. This deceleration was mainly attributed to a more pronounced reduction in prices for coke, petroleum, chemical, rubber, and plastic products, particularly fuels, which fell by 4.1% compared to a 1.8% drop in February. On a monthly scale, producer prices increased by 0.6%, up from a 0.4% rise in February.
