Brazil Unemployment Rate Falls To 6.6%

Brazil's unemployment rate slightly increased to 6.6% in the three months ending in April 2025, a marginal rise from 6.5% in the previous January quarter, yet it was still below the anticipated market projection of 6.9%. The number of unemployed individuals stayed relatively constant from January at 7.3 million, similar to the number of employed individuals, which hovered around 103.3 million. Correspondingly, the number of people not actively participating in the labor force showed little fluctuation, holding steady at approximately 66.8 million. Additionally, real income remained stable over the quarter at R$3,426.
