South Korea Export Price Growth Accelerates in January

In January 2026, South Korea’s export prices climbed 7.8% year-on-year, accelerating from a downwardly revised 5.0% increase in December. The rise was primarily driven by manufactured goods, whose export prices also advanced 7.8%, compared with a 5.0% gain the previous month. Export prices for agricultural, forestry, and marine products increased 6.4%, easing from a 7.4% rise in December. Exports to the United States remained subject to a 15% tariff; nevertheless, total export volumes expanded by 28.3% compared with a year earlier. On a month-on-month basis, overall export prices rose 4.0%, picking up from a 0.6% increase in December.
