Latvia posted a current account deficit of EUR 62 million in December 2025, reversing from a surplus of EUR 146 million in the same month a year earlier. The goods deficit widened to EUR 388 million, up from EUR 331 million in December 2024, while the services surplus narrowed to EUR 183 million from EUR 247 million. At the same time, the surplus in secondary income dropped sharply to EUR 15 million, compared with EUR 188 million a year before. By contrast, the primary income surplus rose markedly to EUR 128 million, from EUR 43 million in the same month of the previous year.
