Finnish Producer Prices Rise the Most in Over 2 Years

Producer prices in Finland rose by 1.9% year-on-year in January 2026, rebounding from a 0.8% decline in the previous month. This was the strongest increase in producer prices since March 2023, as deflation in manufactured products eased (-0.5% vs. -0.9% in December 2025). The improvement was driven by higher prices for basic metals (5.3% vs. 0.7%), pharmaceutical products (9% vs. -1.8%), and rubber and rubber products (3.6% vs. 0.3%).

At the same time, costs continued to rise in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (4.3% vs. 4.2%), while prices rebounded sharply in mining and quarrying (3.7% vs. -0.3%) and in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (26.9% vs. -2.2%). On a monthly basis, producer prices increased by 4.3% in January, recovering from a 1% decline in the previous period.
