Sweden Inflation Edges Up to 0.6% in March

Sweden’s annual inflation rate inched up to 0.6% in March 2026 from 0.5% in February, according to preliminary estimates, remaining at its highest level since October 2025. “Preliminary figures show that the inflation rate according to the CPI rose slightly in March, with higher transport costs and lower housing costs,” said Caroline Neander, statistician at Statistics Sweden. On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.6%—the first decline in four months—reversing the 0.6% increase recorded in February. Meanwhile, the consumer price index with a fixed interest rate (CPIF), the Riksbank’s target measure, rose 1.6% year-on-year in March, easing from 1.7% in February and reaching its lowest level since December 2024.
