Tourist arrivals in Slovenia rose by 0.2% year-on-year to nearly 491.2 thousand in April 2026, marking the lowest level in five months and a sharp slowdown from the 9.7% growth recorded in March. Domestic arrivals increased by 8.3% to 120.2 thousand, while foreign arrivals fell by 2.2% to 371 thousand, largely due to fewer visitors from Italy (-21.8%), Austria (-8.5%), and Germany (-7.6%). In contrast, arrivals from Hungary grew by 16.9%, and those from Croatia by 4.3%. Overnight stays rose by 1.9% to 1,163 thousand, with the highest numbers recorded in health resorts (up 1.5%) and mountain resorts (up 6%). Over the first four months of the year, total tourist arrivals increased by 4.6% to 1,451 thousand compared with the same period a year earlier.
