US Futures Inch Higher

US equity futures were steady on Friday, consolidating gains from recent sessions amid broad enthusiasm for the AI sector and ongoing hopes for progress in US–Iran talks. Futures on the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average rose about 0.4%, while Nasdaq 100 futures were flat.

US Secretary of State Rubio indicated that the gap between concessions offered by Washington and those sought by Tehran is narrowing, easing worries about a potential escalation over the weekend. Nevertheless, investors continued to anticipate a prolonged disruption of normal energy exports through the Middle East, keeping inflation risks in focus and long-term yields elevated.

In corporate news, Workday jumped more than 8.2% in premarket trading after posting better‑than‑expected first‑quarter earnings. Nvidia recovered from yesterday’s modest pullback following its results: the chipmaker exceeded headline expectations, though its forward revenue guidance fell short of the most optimistic analyst forecasts.
