Italy’s construction output fell 1.2% year-on-year in July 2026, reversing a 0.6% increase in the previous month. This marked the sector’s first contraction in six months and its weakest performance since December 2024. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output declined by 1.4%, moderating from a 2.1% drop in June. On average, construction production decreased by 0.8% in the May–July period compared with the previous three months. Over the first seven months of 2026, however, calendar-adjusted construction output was still up 1.3%.
