Vietnam Manufacturing Growth Picks Up

Vietnam’s S&P Global Manufacturing PMI rose to 52.3 in October 2026, up from a three-month low of 51.9 in September. Manufacturing output continued to expand, supported by stronger customer demand and ongoing growth in new orders. That said, the rate of expansion slipped to a six-month low, as some producers reported that difficulties in sourcing raw materials had constrained production.

Supplier delivery times lengthened to their greatest extent since April, largely reflecting the impact of higher fuel costs and adverse weather conditions. On the price front, input cost inflation accelerated for the second consecutive month to its fastest pace since June, although it remained well below the spike seen after the outbreak of the Middle East war. In response, manufacturers raised selling prices at a quicker rate.

Finally, business confidence rose to an eight-month high, driven by expectations of improved raw material availability and further strengthening in market conditions.
