Turkey’s Core Inflation Eases Slightly in October, Offering Tentative Relief

Turkey’s core consumer inflation, excluding energy, food, beverages, tobacco and gold (CPI Ex E,F,B,T&G), edged down in October 2026, offering a modest sign of easing price pressures in key underlying components of the consumer basket.

Year-over-year, the indicator slowed to 28.3% in October, down from 28.7% in September 2026. Both figures compare price levels in each respective month to the same month a year earlier, highlighting a marginal but notable deceleration in the pace of core price growth.

The updated data, released on 3 November 2026, will be closely watched by markets and policymakers as they assess whether this slight moderation in core inflation can be sustained, and what it may imply for Turkey’s future monetary policy path and inflation outlook.
