GBP/USD

Market analysis for GbpUsd pair with Bollinger Bands Indicator on Monday, July 20, 2026 The Pound sterling continues to be pressured by the strengthening US dollar, which occurred in last Friday’s trading on the GbpUsd pair, dominated by sellers who managed to maintain their dominance by continuously entering the market and pushing price down in a bearish move, away from the seller resistance area at 1.3578-1.3477. This area still has not been broken by bullish buying pressure, so price continues to move further down due to the strong selling activity from the sellers.

Monitored using the Bollinger Bands indicator on the Daily timeframe, it can be seen that price or the candlestick of the GbpUsd pair has been successfully controlled by sellers who dominated the session by pushing price down in a bearish move, breaking out below the Upper Bollinger Band located at 1.3526, further supported by a solid bearish candlestick dominance. This indicates that the GbpUsd pair is again potentially weakening further in today’s trading. Sellers will continue to maintain their current advantage by keeping the candlestick position below the Upper Bollinger Band area to open up deeper bearish opportunities, with the next target towards the Middle Bollinger Band at 1.3329, which must be broken to open up further bearish potential towards the Lower Bollinger Band. However, if the Middle Bollinger Band area can be defended by buyers, then price will have the opportunity to be controlled by buyers with a target towards the Upper Bollinger Band area. In Monday’s early Asian session today, trading on the GbpUsd pair is still firmly in the hands of sellers, who are able to dominate the market to the point that a Bearish GAP has formed, and sellers continue to push price down in a bearish move targeting the nearest buyer support area at 1.3431-1.3420. However, if buyers are able to contain the seller’s bearish momentum at this nearest support, then price will be pushed back up in a bullish move, targeting the nearest seller resistance area at 1.3474-1.3475. Today’s trading still focuses on looking for Sell entry opportunities only, by placing pending orders as follows: A sell entry is taken if sellers manage to break below the nearest buyer support area at 1.3421-1.3420, with the TP target area at 1.3396-1.3395. A buy entry can be taken if buyers manage to break above the nearest seller resistance area at 1.3575-1.3475, with the TP target area at 1.3505-1.3505.
