Australia Private Sector Credit Adds 0.4% In January

The Reserve Bank of Australia reported on Thursday that total private sector credit in Australia increased by a seasonally adjusted 0.4 percent in January. This figure met predictions and remained consistent with the previous report.

In terms of types of credit, housing credit rose 0.4 percent on a monthly basis. Personal credit increased by 0.2 percent and business credit saw a 0.7 percent gain.

When it comes to annual figures, overall credit experienced a 4.9 percent growth. Housing credit posted a 4.2 percent increase, personal credit added 1.2 percent, and business credit saw a significant boost with a 6.8 percent rise.

Broad money marked a 0.3 percent monthly growth, and an annual increase of 4.5 percent.
