Norway Retail Sales Fall 5.1% In June

Norway's retail sales experienced a decline in June, following a rebound in the previous month, according to preliminary data released by Statistics Norway on Friday.

Seasonally adjusted figures indicate that the volume of retail sales dropped by 5.1 percent in June compared to May, where there had been a 4.7 percent increase.

Specific sectors observed significant drops, with sales of food and beverages falling by 7.6 percent and other goods by 7.3 percent. Additionally, sales of automotive fuel decreased by 5.0 percent, and cultural and recreational goods saw a decline of 6.0 percent.

Year-over-year analysis shows a 3.0 percent decrease in retail sales for June, contrasting with a 3.5 percent increase recorded in the previous month.
