French stocks experienced a downturn on Monday as investors awaited significant U.S. tech earnings announcements and central bank policy meetings in the United States, Japan, and the U.K. scheduled for this week, seeking direction from these events.

Increased tensions in the Middle East also contributed to investor anxiety.

Stabilus shares soared by 4.4%, with the motion control solutions provider reaffirming its fiscal year 2024 outlook after reporting a rise in third-quarter profits to 24.3 million euros from 21.7 million euros the previous year.

Shares linked to China declined ahead of the upcoming Chinese factory activity report.

Hermès International saw a decline of over 3%, LVMH decreased by 1.1%, and Kering fell by 0.5%.
